balance

By

Hi all. Took a hiatus for the weekend due to traveling and the 4th. Seems silly that I would take a hiatus from writing when I just started, but alas, no internet at the farm.

Yesterday I had written this whole blog post and by golly, it didn’t save. I got mad and shut my laptop.

So what’s new? Well my appointment went good with my PCP. Got a referral for a new gyno and counseling. Switching up meds since my anxiety and depression are heightened. It also helps perimenopause symptoms too.

I’m finally finding a balance this week. Yesterday I had a moment of I didn’t do enough around the house. Then I stopped that thought before I really dwelled on it and made a list of what I did accomplish: laundry and folding said laundry, unpacked the rest of our tubs from the farm, showered and brushed my teeth, cleaned out the fridge, took all the trash out, did the dishes, cooked a good supper, and fed and watered the children. I also gave the dogs a bath Tuesday. That was a workout.

But I was productive. I got up and tackled a few things. I also adulted with phone calls, paperwork, and River’s appointments.

Today I went to mana house, straightened up the kitchen, ran more laundry, fed and watered children and dogs, went to the library. River is on a Goosebump kick right now. I love it because I was too at her age.

I’m no longer fretting over what I didn’t get done. I’m concentrating on what I did accomplish in a day.

And if all you did today was keep yourself alive, you’re doing great!! Now tomorrow drink some water and shower. Brush your teeth. Don’t rot in your depression or let your brain or the enemy tell you aren’t enough or doing enough.

You are beautiful and fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. You are a child of the mighty King. Don’t forget that.

Lord, we ask that you cover where we feel we are lacking in our lives. We ask you to cast out the voice that is not yours, Lord. To give us strength when we feel weak. We thank you for the life we are privileged to live on this earth in your beautiful creation. In your precious name, Amen.
